REHIRE THE LAID OFF CREWS AND PROFESSIONALS:
The global shutdown of ticketing has led to mass layoffs across all sectors of the industry. In order to mount live events smoothly we have to plan how to bring back the teams who operated the road crews, build the lighting rigs, tuned the guitars and put the letters on marquees.
We are going to need to figure out the chicken and egg dilemma of how to fully staff the venues where events will take place so that events can take place. Many of the former employees of providers who did everything from rental staging to creating video montages are now working other jobs and may not want to return. Vendors themselves are out of business.
We have time to build a roster of which companies supporting live event promotion and production still exist and where to find staff to reopen venues and theaters. In order for the curtain to go up, someone has to be there to raise it.
